Reunion dinner is something so important as it's finally a day when everyone finds time to have a meal together and rekindle family ties. Therefore, to me, reunion dinner has to be a reallllyyyyy good meal!
Thanks to Cathay Restaurant, I get to have a perfect reunion with my family and friends before Chinese New Year. xD
I brought my family, aunt, and friends to try out their unique Chinese New Year dishes before it is launched for all of you!
The very first thing that was served to us is the "Salmon Lo Hei Yu Sheng"!
How can anyone miss out Yu Sheng on Chinese New Year??
If you have no idea what are the auspicious wishes to say while putting the ingredients of Yu Sheng together, not to worry, Cathay Restaurant has really nice waiters/waitresses to help us with that!
She was sooooo good with her words!
HUAT AH!!! Look at my happy aunt! HAHA.
The next dish was "Braised Shark's Fin with Crab meat and bamboo pith"!
Can you see all the goodness in this bowl? It was so good I want to tear lol.
The crab meat in it is really fresh! I can taste the sweetness in it. SO GOOD.
Next up, "Stir fried scallop and prawns with seasonal vegetable in XO sauce"!
It's no secret that I LOVE scallops and prawns so I was anticipating for this dish after looking at the menu!
I don't really like fish but I cannot deny that fish above was delicious. I finished every bit served to me!
AND WAIT FOR THE NEXT DISH. IT'S MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!
Braised 8 head abalone with dried oyster!
The abalone was fantastic it MELTS in my mouth *_*
Roasted Crispy Chicken!
Super yummy glutinous rice!
After that was the dessert. :D
Chilled Sea Coconut with snow lotus seed and American ginseng.
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, I'm dying to have another bowl of this!
The meal ended off with Nian Gao, which is also one of the must-haves in a Reunion Dinner!
This Nian Gao is very unique and very different from the usual ones I've eaten. It tastes a little like peanut mochi but a tad bit sweeter since it's Nian Gao. I was so full but managed to finish my share of this because I really liked it!
With my brother who snatched all the good genes before I came out.
And my dad at the back looking H-A-P-P-Y after a satisfying meal! :)
