Garnier: Skin Renew BB Cream

Hi! hope your day was extra fabulous!

I will be reviewing this new product that has hit the market, Introducing Garnier's BB Cream.
I first saw this product on my Allure magazine. i was excited to see that companies such as Garnier have stepped up and introduced BB cream to the rest of the world. I have seen very mixed reviews about this product and i finally decided i should purchase it to see for myself. on my last trip to walmart i spotted this and put it on my cart right away. i picked it up in light/medium but i went back and grabbed the medium/deep since i will be vacationing in a tropical/sunny country this summer :) and i will be tanning a lot, and i wanted to see how a darker bb cream would look like.

all my bb creams are usually lighter colored, i almost scolded myself for buying the darker shade of this product after squeezing it on the back of my hand (it came out darker than expected). i immediately thought," where's my receipt?" but after blending it i noticed it has more of a red/orange tint to it that i didn't really like, but only noticable up close.

i think that theres a lot of room left for improvement.  base on the reviews i've read saying that it was "drying", i found it not drying at all, but is just dry in formulation and just doesn't Hydrate like it claims to be. It's no surprise that it's not greasy if you have tried bb creams before. True, it is thicker that other bb creams, some bb creams can be light and watery even ,but this one is thicker in consistency, but when blended it is very light and bendable. people have been claiming this as a light tinted moisturizer, i can agree with this a little bit, since BB creams are known to be treatment because it helps improve the skin with ingredients that can help with whitening, wrinkles, etc., this product however does not have the same powers like the bb creams i have been used to. the only thing good I've seen is it's SPF  and the fact that it's ingredients are minerals that can help with dullness because it gives an airbrushed natural sheen to the face. another thing is the scent. for me it's not as strong as people claim it to be, it reminds me of Green tea and not floral but it does linger. i feel like it also has way too many ingredients and it doesn't really do that much good. and also there have been many claims that the product is not the right shade for them, this is no surprise to me since BB creams do not really have a wide variety of shades, but people rely mostly on it's blending power. i concluded that this BB cream is geared more towards people with a redder pigment on their skin unlike my Asian yellow-ish tint, this BB cream is not the right one for me.

notice how it gives off a healthy sheen?
moving on, after trying this product and comparing it to the original/usual Asian BB creams, it doesn't really have as much benefits. It's not really that surprising, it's just a new product and i'm sure they will be trying to improve this product more it's patent is also pending, so that means there's always room for improvement. one of the good things about it is that it will be available at the usual stores/drugstores where you can buy Ganier(practically everywhere) no need for ordering online. i believe this will be a really good product for everyone. But! for those that want to try BB cream for the first time, i don't recommend basing all your experiences with this product, meaning, if you don't like it, don't think all BB creams will be this way, They definitely are not. BB creams vary on brand and formulation. i think i'll save this to save the trouble of returning it, i hope it will be useful to me one day.
