How to glam up a ho-hum polish shade

Essie's "Chinchilly" is by no means a new shade on the market.  It provides your nails with a solid grey tone that is great for daytime wear and could definitely be glammed up for a night out.

Personally, I prefer shades that offer understated elegance and add a touch of class to your outfits without standing out too much.  Solid shades like this one are very practical to have in your lacquer selection, in my opinion.

Products used for this manicure:  Clear Base Coat, TIPS Nail Conditioner, Revival Nail Polish Remover and Top Coat, all by ASK Cosmetics Inc., a Canadian company that sells its products exclusively on: QVC US, The Shopping Channel in Canada or via their online shop @ www.askcosmetics.com.

However, I realize this neutral, subtle shade of grey might be too dull for some of you.  For this reason I decided to add some bling to it and create a new look for this chilly shade.

Essie's "A Cut Above" from the Luxeffects collection offers a nice bit of glamour to "Chinchilly".

Both "Chinchilly" as well as "A Cut Above" went on very easily.  The glitter particles were evenly dispersed during application.

I absolutely love the effect the glitter offers.  A grey base with bronze glitter is a very elegant looking combination.  What do you think?  Have you ever glammed up a rather ho-hum polish before?

Thanks for stopping by, Lisa M
