Featured Review: Hada Labo Ultra Hydrating 3-in-1 Perfect Gel

Hada Labo is definitely not an unfamiliar brand to me, I have tried a few of their awesome products, such as their Super Hyaluronic Acid Moist Essence EX as well as the Moisture Lotion, their No.1 Lotion in Japan.

I am glad that I was sent the Ultra Hydrating 3-in-1 Perfect Gel! I am very excited to try this out, because my skin has been drying out, and no moisturiser has been able to rectify the issue. And, it the mask came with the cute panda eye mask, because it works as a sleeping mask too!

Results may vary, what works for me might or might not work for you

Our body repairs itself when we sleep, and it is optimal to sleep the number of hours that your body needs depending on your age, to ensure that your body is ready for the next day's activities!
Source: Help Guide
Quoting from INeedMotivation, the best time to go to bed to help you wake up in great shape is between 9pm and midnight. This is a general guideline for adults 18-45 years old, and older people will tend to sleep earlier due to their age and lack of energy, which is normal. If you go to sleep later than midnight, even with the right amount of hours you need, it is not optimal sleep for you.

While you're asleep, your skin is at its restorative best! "When asleep, your metabolic rate is lower, so you're not producing as many skin-damaging free radicals. Plus, you're not exposed to environmental pollutants or UV light that can harm the skin," explains Mary Lup, M.D., a New Orleans-based dermatologist. "Because your body doesn't have to work at skin protection overnight, it can instead focus on repairing the damage done throughout the day," she says. So any products you use will be that much more effective at hydrating, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and brightening. - Jennifer Benjamin, DailyGlow.

Today I want to share with you Hada Labo's Perfect Gel, which is meant to replenish the skin's moisture while you sleep! Which is perfect for those of you who sleep in airconditioned rooms, or have dry and flaky skin

Hada Labo's Ultra Hydrating 3-in-1 Perfect Gel is perfect for those of you who are like me, who always face dry and flaky skin (at certain areas)!

Hada Labo Says...
The Hada Labo Perfect Gel has a rich cream texture that is non-sticky, allowing your skin to feel light even after applying. Its versatility and effectiveness has won the hearts of so many women that it is No.1Sales in ‘All-in-One’ gel product segment in Japan.

The Potent Ingredients
(Incl. 3 Types of Hyaluronic Acid for Deep & Long Lasting Moisturisation)
1. Hyaluronic Acid
Able to hold 6l of water per gram, providing intense moisture to the skin when applied.
Hyaluronic Acid is also known as glycosaminoglycan, is known for its ability to reverse or stop aging, sometimes referred to as "key to the fountain of youth"  Cleveland Clinic
2. Super Hyaluronic Acid
Is able to hold 2X as much water than Hyaluronic Acid per gram, providing maximum moisturization
3. Nano Hyaluronic Acid
Able to penetrate deep into the skin, providing long lasting and deep moisture to the skin.
4. Collagen
As the body’s collagen levels decline, the skin starts to age with wrinkles, large pores and poor skin clarity. The Hada Labo Perfect Gel contains collagen to provide firm, elastic and wrinkle-free skin.
5. Ceramide
Skin that lacks ceramide is often dry, irritated, and often easily affected by the sun and dust in air. Hada Labo Perfect Gel help to hold and repair the surface skin cells together for a healthy, smooth skin.

Celly's Skincare Routine
I have acne and combination skin, therefore my skincare routine is very important to ensure that my skin maintains it's radiance and suppleness. I would love to have flawless and dewy skin at all time.. I am not there yet, but at least I have a goal in mind.

One thing I like about such moisturiser, is that the gel like texture makes it very moisturising and refreshing for the skin! And feels like I am feeding my skin water to quench it's thirst!

And as a regular moisturiser or serum, all you need is a pea-size for your full face, including your neck! It glides on your skin very smoothly without tugging, you can even massage your skin for a few minutes even after it has been fully absorbed.

As this product works as an essence, serum and a sleeping mask, I have included this in both my morning and night routine, which differs only due to the sunscreen.
Step 1: Cleanse face with facial cleanser
Step 2: Tone face with a cotton pad
Step 3: Apply essence just for additional goodness~
Step 4: Hada Labo Perfect Gel
Step 5a: For day, apply sunscreen.
Step 5b: For night, apply pimple treatment.

I have been using the product for 14 days straight, so that I could have a proper gauge of the product, which I feel is still insufficient. I will have an ongoing assessment of this! I did not take photos everyday, but I took whenever I remembered, so I could take note of the progress. I got to admit, because this is a sponsored review, I tried to meet the given deadline, but I ensured that I was able to use it for as long as I could! I forsaked the chance to win some giveaway as well, for the sake of doing a better review of course ^^

So here's Day ZERO, without makeup and even skincare! Please note that this product does not brighten my skin in anyway, the natural lighting in Day Four image makes my skin look radiant and brighter somehow.

ALL IMAGES ARE TAKEN BEFORE APPLICATION OF THE PRODUCT, JUST AFTER CLEANSING

Shot under natural light

Please ignore the acne redness, because I am experiencing sunburnt skin for the past few days hee. So what did you notice was different? I noticed that my skin wasn't that dry after cleansing, and my skin has a natural sheen.

The Verdict
After using the product twice a day for more than 2 weeks, I've got to admit... I really love this product. Although there is no obvious improvements if you see the photos above, but my skin feels smoother and does not flake anymore.

Not forgetting that this product does have long lasting hydration! I feel that their hydration lasts even after you wash off your face of dirt and makeup. As my cleansed skin does not feel dry, and even feels smooth to the touch with no tugging.

It's gel like texture glides on your skin, which helps to cool down and moisturise your thirsty and dry skin at the same time!

What's more, it is lightweight and non-sticky, unlike some rich moisturisers which may turn out a little too oily. Although the gel is quickly absorbed into the skin, it leaves your skin feeling smooth and moisturised.

I recommend massaging the Perfect Gel into your skin as you apply it, as it applies very smoothly. Massage with outward strokes beginning from the center of your face. This can help promote blood circulation as well as firmer skin. Even if you massage your skin after the gel has been fully absorbed into your skin, you will not feel any tugging at your skin (but remember, be gentle!).

For sensitive skin people like myself, this did not irritate my skin or cause any breakouts. My acne actually improved (could be other reasons though, such as exercise and my regular water intake).

Summary
The Good
1. Long lasting hydration
2. Light weight and not sticky
3. Multi-purpose product, as a moisturiser and also a daily sleeping mask
4. Fragrant free - suitable for sensitive skin users
5. Improved my skin condition, my skin feels healthier!
6. No more squeaky or dry skin after cleansing

The Bad
1. Quite pricey, costing more than SGD35.90 for 80g
2. Not paraben free - if you are into paraben-free products
3. Not extremely hygienic to double dip into the tub, if only it came with a small spatula like most of the sleeping masks do

Check out Hada Labo's Facebook or their Official Website for more information! And get yours today from any Watsons, Guardian or other participating stores at $35.90. Don't forget to share your views with me, I would love to hear them!

I am going to do a review of all sleeping masks soon, as I realised I have a couple of sleeping masks with me, and let's have the battle of the masks in a few months (so that I could really test them outtt!).

Stay tuned for an upcoming tutorial on Korean Dewy Makeup! Andddd cast your votes on ideas for the next blog post and I will definitely share this with you ^^

Featured Review: Talking Duke Dog Free App

I am excited to be able to do an application review for you today! I have been using my Samsung Note 2 for the past few months and have been really loving the andriod interface. Well, if you are wondering, I used to be an iPhone user until the Note 2 came about!

OKAY! So just some disclaimer before I get the ball rolling...

❤❤❤

❤❤❤

When I was young, I have always wanted to have a puppy.. However my parents disliked the idea of having a pet since I was too young to even take care of myself (I am sure, many of you might face the same issue...). So I have always played with my dog plush toy which is lifeless and immobile.

With the advance of technology, which I am always very thankful for, we can now adopt a pet puppy without having to pay a single cent! FREE! Totally! Now now now, if you think this dog is going to be just a beautiful high resolution image on your mobile phone or tablet devices, you are totally wrong.

Duke, the puppy, can even do things that REAL dogs can't..

Here are just a couple of fun tricks that Duke does, do go and find out about the rest on your own!
 Sing and talk
✔ Dance
✔ Hop and do somersaults
✔ And many many more!

Who Should Get This?
Parents, Grandparents, Children, Teachers...

Why Should You Get It?
Firstly, it is FREE. Totally free, except for the ads that they display at the bottom of the screen. Also, this can be something to tickle the senses of children. Especially when learning something new, having them to recite it aloud to Duke, and have Duke repeat after them in a cute and chipmunk-ish voice is going to make them chuckle as they learn~

Where To Get?

Featured Review: Hip Hop 50's Shop

Indeed, a fashion blog post has arrived in my humble blog! I would not consider myself as a fashionista, or someone with great fashion sense... Because I would totally prefer comfort over anything! So here I am going to share with you the Hip Hop 50's Shop which sells a variety of clothing which are vintage~ classic~ and beautiful!

I was invited by Isabelle to do a review for the Vintage Dresses, and I am not compensated for positive reviews or comments - as always, honest comments from the bottom of my heart in Singapore <3~

❤❤❤

If you are OK with the above, let's get the review right away!

Hip Hop 50's Shop
They are an online clothing shop, which love making 50's clothings. With a store located in Bluffdale, UT, they have been around since 2003.

Specializing in Adult and Children's 50's outfits, they have a wide array of clothings such as poodle skirts, saddle oxford shoes, chiffon scarves, cateye glasses and many many more!

Visit them here: http://www.50spoodleskirts.com/

Know Something About the 50's
Here I am going to give you a quick insight into the fashion trends of the 50's, so you guys get the idea of the 50's style... I did some research into the 50's clothings, and these are probably some of them which I really like~

Poodle Skirts

Crinoline Petticoat

Click on the images if you are interested to get one on your own, because I know the colours are really beautiful and vibrant. I found the Crinoline Petticoat very similar to Wedding Dresses..

❤❤❤

The Vintage Dresses
When I was young, I always loved wearing my mother's clothings, accessories as well as her over-sized court shoes. And as I grew older, I slowly grew into my mother's clothing and was able to fit them perfectly!

One of her favourite long skirt, was mine as well. I love how Fashion never dies, because it always comes back after awhile. Remember what happened to Bell-Bottomed Jeans, and how it was revived. Same with the Skinny Jeans and Maxi Skirts...

Today I want to share with you my favourite Vintage Dress from Hip Hop 50's Shop..

Polka Dotted Tea Dress
Black with White Polka Dot Tea Party Dress
I love polka dot details, as well as the flared skirt - great for those who want's more butt~ Check out the waist, which has a belt to ensure that you do not lose your curves with this flared skirt! (Click the link beneath the dress to see more details of their measurements!)

In order to shield my flabby arms, I selected this sleeved tea party dress, as opposed to the other polka dotted dresses (YES THERE'RE MORE!~). And I love the V-shaped neck line, which is extremely flattering to most body shapes, except for those with very long necks - as it might make your neck seem longer than it already is..

❤❤❤

Where Can You Wear it To
This dress is very versatile, it fits the theme for formal events as well as it looks great for casual and fun events as well.

How about, tea parties? Catch the limelight when your dress stands out from the floral themed tea party, and wow the rest with your beautiful skirt~
Source: NaijaMayor
I believe some of us would have corporate events to attend, and they might have Themed Dinner & Dance which require you go Vintage, 50's~, Polka Dotted.. Put this on to show that you truly know the style of the 50's yo~
Source: Meetup.Com
Dinner dates are unavoidable, be it with girlfriends, or with your significant other. How about spice up the evening with this dress! Well, this is definitely not a dress like your Little Black Dress that you would wear often for dinner, but hey... when it is your special anniversary, or when it's your birthday, why not!
Source: Kootation
However, I honestly would not suggest this for working. Although it looks presentable and formal, I find it too exaggerating for a daily work purpose. Others might think of you as being to dramatic or showy.. But then again, not everyone think's the same!

❤❤❤

So... Let me know how you would wear this Polka Dot Tea Party Dress, or which is your favourite vintage dress? Check here for more if you are interested~

Sponsored Review: A Singapore Love Story

Hello! Been a few days since I blogged :D
I took leave today so I'm gonna stay at home and REST! ^_^

Okay so anyway, recently, I had received a book by Low Kay Hwa ( A Singapore Love Story).
Honestly, I don't like reading books, so obviously, this book didn't excite me.

BUT! I was so wrong.

When I was reading this novel (A Singapore Love Story), I was like O_O because I didn't know what was happening in the middle of the story LOL.
It was too complicated for me I grabbed my hair and whatsapped Rachell to ask her what happened.
So she insisted me to finish the book first, and if I can't understand, she'll explain xD

So I got back to my book, finished it, and laughed at myself.
You kind of have to finish the whole book to understand haha.

It's one of the best novels I had read so far!

Since it's a 'Singapore Love Story' , most of the things in there are really relatable.
The story's really touching, it's like a real life story, I can feel everything he wrote.

I really like how sweet the couple in the story are, and how they are willing to sacrifice things to protect each other.
I LOVE how the guy asked the girl to be his girlfriend. Guys, please get this book and LEARN how to ask girls to be your girlfriend, instead of your usual boring tactics lol.

I recommend you to get this book, I really like it.
You can read the preview here :D

Also, I have two " For That Day " by Low Kay Hwa for giveaway (CLOSED) ! :D

All you have to do is...

1) Leave a comment with your email and name.

2)Say " ENTER ME!! " (you can also add "peishi i love you so much" I don't mind. HAHAH just kidding.)

Click on this post's title to leave a comment :D
Giveaway will end on 20th January, by midnight! ^_^

Sponsored Review: Mentholatum Mogitate Kajitsu Lip Balm (Strawberry)

Mentholatum came up with a new product , Mogitate Kajitsu Lip balm.
I was provided with the strawberry one to review on.

I'm a user of many mentholatum products.
I personally used Mentholatum Lip Ice lip balm as it works pretty well for me, until EOS lip balm came into the picture.

But nonetheless, Mentholatum is a trustable brand for me, so I decided to give this lip balm a try.

Mogitate Kajitsu, also means fresh fruits in English, is a lip balm specially created for people with chapped lips (like me).

According to the packaging, it claims that it moisturizes and softens lips with NATURAL fruit juice + honey + bee wax, and also smoothes lips and prevents wrinkle.
Includes UV protections as well.

Really?
For me to find out xD

I have horrible chapped lips with obvious creases and you can see a huge difference before + after applying lip balm.

Nay:
I'm a person who will buy something for the packaging.
This lip balm don't have a nice packaging compared to other lip balms that will attract me to buy just from how it looks.

Yay:
I LOVE THE SMELL.
Smells like strawberry ice cream xD
And it glides on your lips really easily.
I like how it removes part of the 'creases' on my lower lips instantly :)
As it protects my lips from UV rays, it will not cause damages to my lips (cause it to be dry and skin to peel off ), and also, have smoother lips in the long run.

Before and after applying. (Lower lip have more obvious result in terms of smoothing.)

It's retailing at $5.90 in Watson ~

Also,
Mentholatum (LIP ICE) is giving free samples away :)
REDEEM YOUR Free lip balm SAMPLES HERE.

Alright, all for this review. xx
bye~
