Top-Ten Tuesdays ~ Eye Products

Good morning cupcakes ^.^ Today, I'm going to be sharing with you my Top-Ten Eye Products. So, in no particular order, here goes!

10. e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner in Stardust ~ the perfect sparkling eyeliner to jazz up your night-time make up or party look!

9. Estee Lauder Eye Defining Pencil in Deep Brown ~ I like using this during the day and sometimes during the night for a more natural approach to make-up and I like how it matches the colour of my eyes.

8. e.l.f. Shimmer Eyeliner Pencils ~  although these do not provide you with the longest lasting of formulas, they are a great alternative to the usual boring black eyeliner as they add a pop of colour to your look :)

7. e.l.f. Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black ~ my favourite eyeliner pen! It glides on smoothly and effortlessly and doesn't budge!

6. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk ~ the perfect creamy base to make eyeshadows pop!

5. essence stay natural concealer in 01 Soft Beige ~ I know this is technically not an eye product but since I mostly use this under my eyes, I figured it fits in this category as well. I really like the texture of this concealer and how well it covers my dark circles.

4. Max Factor Kohl Eyeliner in 020 Black ~ if there is a black pencil liner that I absolutely adore, it is this one! Stays on forever and has the deepest black ever!

3. e.l.f. Lengthening and Defining Mascara ~ whenever I wear this mascara, I always get told that it looks as if I am wearing falsies... I think that says it all!

2. e.l.f. Eyelid Primer ~ ever since I bought this primer, I can't seem to stop using it! It makes my eyeshadows pop and last longer without fading or creasing.

1. e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Metallic Olive ~ my favourite out of the cream eyeliners mainly because of the colour but also because I find it is creamier than the other one I have :)

What are your favourite eye products ladies?

Review: Max Factor Kohl Eyeliner in 020 Black

Recently, this eyeliner was featured in another review for comparative purposes. Today, I will give a thorough review about it. If you read my post about the Max Factor lipstick, you will know that this eyeliner came with it as part of a promotional gift-set.

It is your basic black eyeliner... transparent cap, name of brand and shade on the pencil.  You can see it is very small, therefore very handy to carry around for touch ups (not that you will need to).

It is very pigmented and gives a strong sharp line each time. It stays put forever and doesn't smudge, even without a primer! Here's a swatch to illustrate the intensity of the black:

I just love this pencil and can never raise enough praise for it! It doesn't smell or irritate my eyes either. However, being so dramatic a black, I like to wear it for nights out rather than during the day. I do make exceptions when I want to make a statement with my eyes during some day-time activity.

Have you ever tried any Max Factor eyeliners? How do you feel about them?

Review: Max Factor Lipstick in 804 Hint of Red

I got this lipstick as part of a gift-set that was being offered by a local perfumery on purchasing €25 worth of Max Factor cosmetics (you can check out all of what I got here).

Let's see what it looks like:

It's your basic black lipstick tube with the Max Factor logo in silver on the bottom part and the shade name, number and colour at the base. I like the size of it though, it looks so cute and fits even my smallest clutch bag!

The bullet, however is somewhat different. It is not the usual slanting tip that lipsticks have, but instead it is rounded. I guess that's because it is a sample size because the full sized version has the usual slanting shape. Even the packaging is differently shaped... the sample sized version is round whilst the full size version is squarish. I don't really understand the point of it all though but I don't mind it as long as the lipstick still works well.

Sample-size version on the left & full-size version on the right

The lipstick is taste-less and has a faint not-so-good-but-no-bad-either smell that you only notice if you take a sniff of it so it is not something you can't live with.

I have to say the name of the shade (HINT of Red) really suits this lipstick well. It is my favourite red lipstick because it gives, well just a hint of red and it is therefore suitable to wear even with the most dramatic smokey eye. The red in it is on the pinkish side and it has just a subtle silvery shimmer to it (visible on application but not it the actual lipstick bullet!)

So, in terms of pigmentation, I can't say it is very pigmented in the sense that it is not a deep red; but it is fairly pigmented to give a subtle hint of red colouration to the lips. I would say it lasts well for an hour or so at most so I recommend to pop it in your purse for touch ups.

Overall, I like this lipstick and I think it is more wearable than a pillar-box red if like me you don't like much colour on your lips. I just wish it lasts longer on my lips!

Review: Max Factor Creme Puff in 85 Light 'n' Gay

If there's one single product from Max Factor that I simply adore, it has to be Creme Puff in 85 Light 'n' Gay.

This is basically pressed powder. As usual, let me start the review by taking a look at the packaging:

As you can see, the product is supplied in an elegant, sleek black round case with gold wording (in my opinion it looks classy). A flat cosmetic sponge is also supplied. You can also keep the box and buy a refill (although I have never seen refills in stores); there's a small hole (resembling the reset ones on the back of calculators) to push a pin through and remove the empty metal case and replace it. That's really green ain't it?

The powder, does have the texture of a powder but it doesn't look cakey on the skin which is the main reason I like this product so much. However, I still prefer to use it in winter rather than during the hot summer months.

The colour of the powder is very light and has a peachy-pink tint to it which is what makes a perfect match with my skin. It has also got that cosmetics' smell which I adore!

Here's a swatch of the powder:

Another thing I like about this powder, is the flat cosmetic sponge that comes with it. It feels feathery and very light & delicate. I wash it after every use and it still looks and feels as good as new! Bonus Brownie points for a short drying time as well!

I bought this Creme Puff for €5.30 for 21g of product and it has a 12 month expiry period. I think it's a reasonable price.

Have you tried this product in particular or any of the other available shades? If so, post your findings here :)
