Wet 'N' Wild Mega Last Lipsticks

Ello lovelies!
Got a bit of an exciting one for you lot today!

Following so many blogs has one downside, i get real product envy! So many amazing products aren't available in the UK so i find myself quite often having a good ol' search through eBay trying to find a bargain or two! Often prices are fine but shipping is horrendous, but i think i struck gold with these!

 

The Wet 'N' Wild Mega Last Lipsticks are quite the raved about lippie over in the USA! They come in around 20 different shades (don't quote me, i may be wrong), cost around $1.99 each and most have more of a low sheen to matte formula. I spotted these on eBay and they worked out at just over £3 each including combined shipping, bargain! So fast forward two weeks and these bad boys were here!

The two colours i picked up were Just Peachy and Don't Plink Pink. I was a tad worried Just Peachy may be like a concealer lip on me, as it is my very first peach lippie, but i was pleasantly surprised, its gorgeous! Don't Blink Pink is a stunning ultra bright pink, a little too bright for day wear (for me anyways) but perfect for a night out! Application was pretty easy, well saying that my lip swatches are pretty horrendous! They apply opaque in one swipe and have some awesome lasting power! Being on the matte side i find they grip the lips better, and are less likely to slide off. And I am pleased to say i found them in no way drying!

Overall i wholeheartedly recommend these babies! They have a ton of colours, apply like a dream and are even pretty affordable considering i had to ship them in from the USA. So if your from the USA and haven't tried these, do so, now! And if you're from the UK you can check out the eBay seller i found here.

Budget "Beauty Blender"

 Ello lovelies!

After my last haul i had quite a few requests for a review on my eBay makeup sponge find, so here it is!

Firstly, I've never tried an actual Beauty Blender so i can't place real comparisons on the two, and i don't think I'd ever be willing to part with $20 for a sponge! So after hearing a ton of rave reviews on this type of sponge i went for a good ol' hunt on eBay and stumbled across this one!

I payed around £2 for this including shipping from Hong Kong, but for so cheap i was willing to take the risk that it might be utter crap when it arrived, but luckily i was pleasantly surprised! Named a "Bottle gourd sponge" on Ebay, there was plenty of sellers to choose from, so i opted to spend a few pence more and go for a top rated seller. It arrived within two weeks!

Now I've had bad experiences with sponge wedges, i could never get on with application and whenever i tried to wash them they'd break and fall apart. I am REALLY enjoying using this for application of thicker foundations, and even my Double Wear (although it is a pain in the ass to wash out!). By dampening it down with warm water it makes most of my foundations a dream to apply and blend, and for me it really helps at not accentuating my pores, which is great! It's also great for eliminating cakeyness, i have a horrid habit of over powdering and getting a slightly cakey top lip, so I've been loving using this to stipple over any mistakes to get a fresher, less cakey finish.

Again, I've never tried the actual Beauty Blender sponge because of its price, but if you are in the UK there are a few cheap alternatives if you are not confident buying through eBay!

Some more shopping...

... I technically bought these items last Monday as well but the Smart Card machine at the Terranova outlet was not working and my babies were left for two days in store waiting for me to pick them up as soon as everything was back to normal. Here's what I got:

Check Shirt Dress... I really like wearing these dresses over leggings and biker boots with a leather jacket. I am a girly girl at heart but I don't mind roughing up my image everyone in a while! Then again, I can always make the look more girly with make-up!  

These polo-necks look great with jeans for a relaxed dressed-down look

Mum and Dad were off to do some errands yesterday while I was at the hospital continuing some testing on a few samples as part of my dissertation.  They got me this lovely Breakfast at Tiffany's tin and they also got a free ceramic pot with their purchase which I am using as a holder for my dirty brushes:

I also received these steel beads and striper brushes which I ordered off ebay a couple of weeks ago. I really like nail art designs with these beads so I got them to use on my clients :)

Review: Nail Art Brushes

As most of you know, I am a tad (read overly) obsessed with everything that has to do with nails and nail art so last year, around Christmas time, I decided to buy myself a gift. I bought a 16 piece set of nail art brushes off ebay for around €5! I took my time to search the site for the perfect set and this was the one that caught my eye:

16 very professional-looking brushes for a mere €5. Before, I start the short review, let me tell you a little story about these brushes...

As I said earlier, I purchased these brushes around Christmas time and since they had to come from Hong Kong, I expected they would take long. However, after a month and a half waiting for them, they still didn't show up so I emailed the seller with the problem. They immediately sent out a replacement set but after two days from me sending them the email, I received my first set. Again, I emailed the seller and told him that I received the first set and asked him how I could send the replacement back. He replied shortly afterwards with a very nice response indeed. he told me to keep the replacement setas a gift at no extra cost! And I ended up with two brush sets:

Now, let me start with the review.

As you can see, the brushes come in a handy plastic pocket and each one of them has its protective sleeve (hard plastic) except for the marbelling brush (fan-shaped). I like the white handles of the brushes as the colour gives off an air of cleanliness.

I really like using these brushes when I am doing free-hand nail art as they are very ergonomic and give me total control over the design. They don't need a lot of time to clean as well... just a wipe with some nail polish remover and I'm done.

The bristles are not that soft for most of the brushes, especially the stripers. Their bristles seem to be like glued together but I guess that's to help achieve a perfect line without any bristles straying.

Overall, I'm really pleased with my purchase and at such a price, it is proof that you don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money for a product to be of good quality!
