FOTD: Baby Its Cold Outside

Hey Lovelies!
Its officially two more sleeps until Christmas, eeee! I'm a tad bit excited if you can't already tell. I had a bit of a pamper day Saturday and decided to try out quite a few of the new goodies i picked up lately. And after battling with my camera trying desperately to capture the AMAZING Lit glitter i used, this was the best shot i could get, it does not do it even nearly enough justice. I also gave my Dinair airbrush system another bash, its definitely not perfect but i was pretty happy with the end results. Its really easy to go from not being able to see it to BAM too much, I'll get the hang of it eventually. I plan to do a full review on most of the new products used in this soon and hopefully *fingers crossed* be able to get a decent picture of the glitter, it is absolutely STUNNING.

Eyes:
MUA - Eye Primer

MAC - Vanilla, Omega and Phloof! Eyeshadows
Lit - Clearly Liquid Glitter Base
Lit - Champagne Wishes Glitter
Elf - Black Liquid Eyeliner
Makeup Forever - Smoky Lash Mascara
Anastasia - Brow Powder Duo

Lips:
YSL - Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick in 203
(I may actually be in love with this lipstick)

Face:
Darling Girl - About Face Velvet Gel Primer

Dinair - Airbrush Foundation
Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder
Mac - Sculpting Powder in Sculpt
Mac – Lightscapade

The Balm - Frat Boy Blush

(around 50 shots of my eye and this is the best i could get... boo!)

I've found three new products that I've fallen head over heals for; The YSL lipstick, Lit Glitters (need moar now) and my Dinair system. So needless to say i am one happy blogger right now.

Have you tried any of these products?

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

LUSH Christmas Goodies!

Hey lovelies!
As soon as a heard the Christmas stuff had arrived at LUSH i basically raced to my nearest store. I'm not a big LUSH nut, but i do love me their Christmas goodies! Candy Mountain (or Candy Cane as it was previously known as) is my all time favourite product from them. I get through quite a few, without fail every year. And this year is no exception! They change its appearance every year so this year instead of being the traditional pink and white its a crazy Willy Wonka style pink and green, i love it! Oh and you may notice theres no Snow Fairy... Well I'm holding out for one for Christmas!

Candy Mountain - Bubble Bath Bar
Sweet smelling, pink and green goodness. Its the typical lush scent, somewhere between Snow Fairy and Rock Star Soap. I get a good three baths out of these so they are WELL worth the money.

Let The Good Times Roll -  Facial Cleanser
I've not seen this one before so i assume its new this year. After smelling the salty, caramel goodness i knew i had to have it. Although if i was LUSH i wouldn't of marketed this as a cleanser. Its basically an exfoliating scrub. I'm guessing its the popcorn in it, but it makes a really lovely daily scrub without leaving your skin dry. I'm really impressed!

Melting Snowman - Bath Melt
I've not tried a bath melt before and this one was far too cute to pass up!

Breath of Fresh Air - Toner Water
I used to use this product years ago and really enjoyed it. But pinching pennies i went back to my Simple Toner as it is less than half the price. But as you can see i got a bit carried away and picked it up again. Its such a refreshing toner with fresh sea water and a whole host of essential oils. I'm starting to see why i loved it so much!

Popcorn - Lip Scrub
My Bubblegum Lip Scrub is on its last legs and the scent of this intrigued me. I'm not sure i like the taste though, I'm undecided! Will do a full review of this soon!

So that's it! You can find these at your nearest LUSH store or online here.

Whats your favourite LUSH product?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... Mini Lush haul!

Although it's still November Christmas is just a month away so i thought I'd share some of my favourite things! Some people say that Christmas time arrives when the Coca Cola advert arrives on our TVs, but i get excited when i get my hands on these goodies.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel - Candy Mountain Bubble Bath Bar

My Christmas trips to Lush are a little predictable, every year i buy the two same things. Snow Fairy is possibly my favourite shower gel of all time, the only reason i have the teeny weeny bottle is that I'm bound to get a massive one for Christmas! In my opinion its the best fragrance Lush do and I'm a little miffed i missed the solid perfume they released a year or two ago! Bubble Gum Lip Scrub is like the edible version of it, yum!

Candy Mountain (formally Candy Cane!) again is my all time favourite bubble bath bar. Writing this I'm actually a little sad as I've already used this baby up and shall be going to grab a few more shortly!

If you've never tried these Lush products, go check them out!
You can buy these in your local store or online here!
And if sweetie scented bath goodies aren't your thing, they have a whole host of Christmassy products to choose from!

Review: e.l.f. Limited Edition Christmas 2010 Nail Polish Collection

If you are not yet aware, e.l.f. cosmetics UK are having a sale on all the Christmas limited edition items and the nail polishes are no exception! Here's my two cents on the three nail polishes I have from their latest collection :)

First off, the packaging. It is the usual packaging, no fancy snowflakes like the eyeshadows sets, just the same packaging as the other nail polishes and the polishes themselves also come in the same format as their counterparts.

The collection is made up of 5 nail polishes, namely, Party Purple, Metal Madness,Twinkle, Glitter Glam and Golden Goddess.  I only have the first three as I already have similar shades to the latter two.  Party Purple was sent to me for free along with the Get the Look Day to Night Set :)

Metal Madness, Party Purple & Twinkle

Metal Madness and Party Purple are packed with multi-tonal and silver glitters respectively whilst Twinkle is loaded with blue, gold and red sparkles... they all scream Christmas and Party-Times to me!  Metal Madness and Party Purple dry with a glossy finish but Twinkle dries to a matte finish. I really love the matte finish actually as it gives the impression of frost :)

Two coats are usually enough to achieve an opaque finish and these polishes last me for a week or so with a top coat on (without a top coat they last me three or four days the most before I start noticing some tip wear).

These nail polishes except Golden Goddess are now on sale for €1.10 instead of €1.70 each.  Nail polishes from the Spring/Summer 2010 Collection (except Smoky Brown) are also being offered at 33% off the original price! I had done a general review on elf nail polishes which you can check out here if you want to however, if you would like me to review the SS 2010 collection on its own or any of the others I own, just leave a comment here :)

NOTW: Deck the nails... Christmas Tutorial #3

Probably this is my favourite festive manicure so far as I like the colour combination a lot and I like how it turned out. I will post the fourth and final tutorial for Christmas nails sometime next week before Christmas and then I will do a couple tutorials for NYE... let's get started on this one...

1. Apply a clear base coat on all the nails and let it dry thoroughly. I used Rimmel Nail Rescue.

2. Apply two coats of a gold hue of your choice to the tips of your nails, allowing enough drying time between the coats. I used Golden Rose Prestige no.71.

3. Take a dark green nail polish (I am using one by Crysthal here) and by means of a detailing nail art brush draw two holly leaves at a 90 degree angle with each other as shown in the image opposite. Finish the design by dotting three dots where the leaves meet with a nice deep red nail polish. I chose Cranberry by elf.

4. Seal off your manicure with a glossy clear top coat, apply some cuticle oil and your done!

NOTW: Starry Christmas Night Sky... Christmas Tutorial #2

Here's another nail tutorial for the festive season...

I decided to post this today because I have another two nail tutorials for Christmas and if I published them on Sundays I wouldn't be in time obviously! I really liked how the base colour turned out to be.  I was originally going to do snowflakes but I have seen quite a bunch of tutorials with that design so I opted for something different, yet still related to the night sky.  I was actually inspired by that part in the Christmas story where the Magi follow a big bright star to find the crib Baby Jesus was born in.  Here's how you can create this nail look yourselves :)

1. As usual, start with a clear base coat.

2. Then, paint on a thin coat of a light blue or turquoise colour all over the entire nail. Don't worry about opacity of the colour as we will soon paint on another colour.  For this step I used Inglot Nail Enamel 309.

3. While the first nail polish is still drying, paint on a darker blue, again all over the entire nail without worrying about opacity.  I used e.l.f. Dark Navy here. Leave everything to dry before proceeding with the next step.

4. For this step you will need a make-up sponge.  Apply a few strokes of a dark grey shimemry colour (I used e.l.f. Metal Madness) on one edge of the sponge and sponge your whole nail with the colour. Re-apply the colour on the sponge as often as necessary (one or two times per nail should be enough).  When ready, leave it to dry.

5. Now for the star design... you will need a striper brush with long hairs for this to get the best possible results (you can get some cheap ones off ebay if you like).  I chose Orly Dazzle and I started by creating a vertical line all along the nail, then cross over a horizontal one to form a cross.  Next, paint on two diagonal stripes to create an 'X' shape and your star is done!  For the ring fingers, I also added a silver round rhinestone in the centre of the star.

6.  As a top coat, I used e.l.f. Twinkle to get a matte frosty look with tons of shimmer! Enjoy!

Today was my day off Uni and naturally, me and Mum hit the shops! She bought me some Christmas pressies (and she still wants to buy me more to reach the set budget :P) and I also bought a top myself. Without further ado, here are the stars of this post:

A very vintage-y cardigan from Peacocks for €26

A pair of jeans to match from Stradivarius for €24.96 (with a 5% off promotional card)

My favourite out of all three... an Audrey Hepburn t-shirt!!!! This cost €22.50

I also picked up my Thomas Sabo bracelet from the post office. It arrived in just a week or so and in perfect condition... box included!!! Here's a picture:

Now I'm waiting for 5 charms to dress it up with (4 of which are from my bf :D)....
