FOTD: Glasses Friendly Makeup

Hey lovelies!

I've been wearing glasses now for a good few months and finding makeup looks that don't look god awful with them has been a bit of a challenge. Mostly, I've been switching it up a lot with lipstick. Its been giving me a real excuse to have a good ol' rummage through my stash and pull out some unloved beauties as well as good some good use out of some of my old favourites.

I tried to escape wearing them on nights out as much as possible, but now I've been using them as a bit of a naughty excuse (to myself lol) not to wear a full on eye of makeup. So attempting flawless skin, a bright lip and a bit of winged liner has been the winning combo most of this month.

Winter Favourites

Hey lovelies!

I don't do favourite posts too often, I'm a creature of habit and stick to a lot of the same stuff most of the time. But I've been loving a lot of newer products i either haven't reviewed, or spoken about too much, so i thought I'd share these little gems with you!

Macadamia - Healing Oil Treatment
Okay, well i may have spoken about this one before... quite a lot. But thats only because it deserves all my raving about it. I ran out of this over Christmas and i could REALLY notice a difference in my hair... and not the good kind. So thankfully, i have a new one! I picked this up for around £6 online, its not full size but as its an oil i only need to use the tiniest amount. If you have dry or damaged hair, give this little beaut a try!

MAC - Studio Fix Fluid NW10/15
This sat unloved in my collection for quite some time, until i came back off holiday and had a bit more colour in me at the beginning of October (NW15 is too dark for me without any sort of tan). I have been using it non-stop since and I'm happy to have discovered MAC have released NW10 (which is strangely too light for me) and 13, yay for us pale ladies! Its a full coverage foundation with a demi matte finish in my opinion and i just love it! It doesn't emphasise my dry areas and stays put ALL DAY. I've been mixing it with lighter foundations to finish this bottle up, then NW13 will be mine!

MAC - Fix +
Another rediscovery of the last few months. I wasn't overly impressed to start with as i picked this up as a setting spray and i love my UD All Nighter a little too much. But as I'm running low and on a no-buy i started using this up and i was pleasantly suprised! I use it after I've set my foundation with powder, it just helps to make the skin look more natural and less powdery, and its a hell of a lot cheaper than the UD alternative.

Origins - Drink Up Overnight Mask
This has been a saviour in the winter months on my dry skin, i use it most nights as a night cream and will be replacing this tube. For a full review, click here.

Maybelline - Dream Matte Powder
As you can see, its well loved. Its cheap, its cheerful and it sets my foundation without looking over powdery or heavy. This works so well, i probably wouldn't even bother looking for a new  setting powder any time soon, and thats saying something for a spending addict like me!

YSL - Rouge Pur Couture The Mats
Probably my favourite matte lipsticks available in the UK. I absolutely adore my Wet 'n' Wild Mega Last lippies, but being from America they are a pain in the bum to buy. YSL released this as part of their winter collection i believe and there are only six shades in the range. I own two and absolutely love them, check out my FOTDs to see them in action. The only downside is the price, at a whopping £23 these YSL bad boys don't come cheap.

MAC - Soft and Gentle
I'm a highlighter whore, and this is my fancy of the moment. I've done a full review on it here.

Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder
Ever look in the mirror hours after doing your makeup and notice you have concealer creased under your eyes? Yes? Then you need this... I'm not too sure what ingredients are in it that make it insanely better than normal loose translucent powders for setting concealer, but its wonderful. It is expensive at around £18 in the UK, but i've been using this EVERY time i apply makeup since October and I'm probably only a third of the way through it, if that. I actually wish i could set my entire face with it.... I'll be reviewing this in full soon as its been requested a few times!

So thats it!

Not another haul?! Debenhams, Boots and Superdrug bits and bobs!

Hey lovelies!
So I've been going a little haul crazy lately...

I just can't Christmas shop without buying things for myself... I try, but it never seems to happen. So i thought I'd share with you the bits and bobs I've picked up lately but don't seem to fit in any other haul. I've pretty much finished my Christmas shopping now (as my bank balance breathes a sigh of relief) and am firmly putting myself on a low-buy for the next few months, which will inevitably fail on boxing day, but oh well!

Optimum - Super Antioxidant Grape Eye Cream
Well over a year ago i did a little review on quite a few products from the Optimum range. I have trouble finding eye creams that don't sting my eyes like a bitch so as this was half price and i remembered enjoying it i thought I'd give it another bash!

Tanatomicals - Holy Grail for the Deathly Pale
Got to admit, the name sold this little beauty to me. Since my trip to the USA I've been mourning my long since faded tan and being "deathly pale" I'm pretty damn scared of fake tanners in general. So far, i am loving this little beauty! I'm trying out a couple of sunless tanners at the moment and will probably do a little series on the good, the bad and the orange in the new year!

Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair
Biggest splurge ever... I'd been lusting after this little beauty for a while and with a combination of Boots online coupons i managed to get around £12 off my big Christmas order which included this. At around £55, it wasn't cheap but I'm really enjoying using it!

Olay - Instant Hydration Eye Cream
30+... Ooops, I'm still using it! Another half price Superdrug little bargain.

YSL - Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain #14
Another splurge! I was really after their Matte Lipstick in 202, but annoyingly my Debenhams doesn't stock that range yet. With my £15 of beauty points burning a hole in my pocket i just had to pick it up and i am sure glad i did. I'm not gunna go into detail because this little gem is going to be my next review.

Are you just as bad as me at Christmas shopping?

Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation - Review

Heya lovelies!

Unless you've been living under a rock the past few months you would have definitely seen one of the latest offerings from YSL, their new Touche Eclat foundation. To be honest I'd been lusting after if since its release as its been getting some seriously good press. So when i noticed a free seven day sample offer i jumped at chance to give this foundation a test drive. And as you tell by the fact I've purchased the full size, i love it!

I went for the lightest pink toned shade BR10 but in hindsight i should have probably gone for the 20 as its marginally too pale for me. But they do have an impressive shade range in cool, warm and neutral tones so there should be a match for everyone! The first thing i love about this foundation is the texture, its light but has a surprising amount of coverage. Its also illuminating without looking greasy or shiny, more of a "lit within" glow rather than looking sweaty, which gets a huge thumbs up from me. I apply it with my fingers as i find this was the best method for me and would describe it as a medium, satin-ish finish. It doesn't need setting but i found it lasts a little better on the skin with a dusting. I generally get a good 6 - 8 hours wear but i have dry skin, so it may perform differently on more oily skin types.

At £28 it isn't cheap but its actually not as much as i would of expected out of YSL. I managed to pick mine up on Feel Unique with 15% off and their usual free delivery which worked out about the same as duty free would of been, bargain! I've included a little swatch below but it really doesn't do the foundation any justice, more for just a colour guide, it looks so natural and radiant on the skin.

Overall i really couldn't recommend this foundation enough! If you're looking for a light, radiant foundation with decent coverage definitely go pick up a sample and try it out for yourself. Its possibly my favourite discovery of the year so far, and thats saying something!

You can check it out on the Feel Unique website here.

Have you tried it? Do you love it as much as me?!
Let me know.
