♥ La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo ♥

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
I have heard about this one alot from Lily Melrose of LLYMLRS. Since then i have been trying hard to get it. And to my luck found this on MedplusBeauty. Not sure of its availability now but i got a hold of this one to try!!
I never had a problematic skin that i had to worry like crazy and look for something miraculous product like this. But i have been trying out lot of products lately (me bad!!) and something didn't click well. Skin turned oily and started breaking out. It really freaked me out to see it go bonkers so much and i tried my best with other things like Acne Cream, Blood Purifying Syrup (Safi) and every other possible thing i can imagine!! It helped a little but break outs were rather too much to even show the results. Having a clear skin was suddenly far sighted!! To top it oily skins are highly prone to dullness and that made me too sad lately!! So when i found this on MedplusBeauty i didn't een think twice!
The moment i got La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo i had to try. Its been like 4-5 days now and i have been using it twice a day with No other product!!
Believe me if i say its a Magic Potion!! It cleared my skin like magic and skin looks far far better than just good! No signs of freaking oiliness and dullness. Skin is much brighter, looks even toned and no signs of breakout!! Though couple of reviews say its kinda drying, i haven't found any such!! Instead i haven't used a moisturizer at all.
Used this one as makeup base and jumped straight to foundation or BB cream always. Seriously worth the money!
Am crazily in love with this one and i am more than happy to shell out 995 INR (i guess) to get this!!

Its a great product for anyone who has been fighting Oily Skin, Problematic Skin, Break outs etc etc...

Have you ever tried any product from La Roche Posay?? Am so looking forward to try their other products :)

January 2011 Favourites

So, the first month of 2011 is already gone (very fast might I add!) and here are the products I have been using over and over again during this month:

The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub & Body Butter ~ I just love the scent of these two and not only do I enjoy it in the bathroom, but whenever I feel a bit under the weather, I like to open them up and take a sniff to lift my spirits :)

e.l.f. Zit Zapper & Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15 in Rose Beige ~ I have been using the Zit Zapper to dry out any pimples that have a life of their own and I really like the results whereas I have been using the Tinted Moisturizer as an alternative to foundation.  Reviews coming up soon on both of these!

essence stay natural concealer in 01 Soft Beige ~ This was a re-purchase because I was running low on my Rimmel concealer. I like the liquid consistency of this one better than the stick formulation of the other so  guess this will be my go-to concealer!

Caboodles honey flavoured lipgloss in Yummy Swirls ~ Mum got this because she thought it would come out sheer, tried it and she didn't like it because it was too shimmery for her but for me, it works perfectly! Watch out for the review!

Montagne Jeunesse Aloe Vera Face Tonic & Blemish Mud ~ my favourite brand when it comes to face masks that smell gorgeous and actually do their work! My current favourites are the Aloe tonic and Blemish Mud :) Keep your eyes peeled for loads of reviews on Montagne Jeunesse Products in the coming weeks!

La Roche Posay Lipikar Xerand Hand Cream ~ my bf's aunt gave this full-sized hand cream sample and I'm really loving it and the way it makes my hands feel soft without being greasy! Will be reviewing this soon :)

Shulips Heel Protectors ~ the revolution in heel protection might I say! I like how these are designed so that once they fit, they don't budge... read my review to find out more ;)

I have also been working on more nail art designs than ever this month due to a course I took.  If you missed the posts, here are the pictures again :) I have also been setting up my work portfolio so watch out for posts in which I will explain how you can make yours as well :)

Now let's see what new products February brings!

Review: La Roche Posay Effaclar AI Targeted Breakout Corrector

Hello my lovelies :) hope you've all had a nice start to the week so far :) Today, I am going to review another product which I use as part of my struggle to get rid of the occasional zits that choose my face to sit on and develop a life of their own... La Roche Posay Effaclar AI Targeted Breakout Corrector.

I actually bought this product at a time when red, swollen pimples were starting to take over my forehead and cheeks.  I have never suffered from acne or such nasty breakouts like that one before so I was really worried (obviously!) and also, foundation wasn't to blame as I didn't wear any at the time!  Later on, I discovered that the breakout was due to exam stress and now I deal with my exams differently so that I prevent any similar episodes from recurring.  Anyways, my physician recommended me this product.

It comes in a box bearing the same description as the tube but I don't have that anymore.  Here's what the tube looks like (sorry it's a bit battered but I also carry it with me when I have a breakout):

The applicator is like one of those pointy types so that you can control how much product comes out.  I recommend using just a small amount of product because if you use a lot, it will dry and turn to a waxy, white crust... not a good look! Also, to avoid spreading the infection (pimples are infections!), I recommend you squeeze out a tiny amount on your finger (squeaky clean hands!!!) and apply it on the area THT rather than using the applicator to direct the cream on the spot. The texture is creamy enough to be absorbed rapidly on the skin.

I found this treatment really effective in clearing posts in less time and redness is reduced within a day or two, depending how red the pimple is.  Since I got it, I like to use the elf Mineral Blemish Kit and pair it with the cream for a more effective solution.

I would recommend this product but I suggest you consult a professional skin care specialist/dermatologist/doctor before using it so as to make sure it is the right product for you.  This cream retails for €9 for 15ml and can be bought from pharmacies.
