Darling Girl - Skin Quenchers

Ello lovelies!

Darling Girl Skin Quenchers are probably my favourite body care discovery, ever... and thats really saying something! I first discovered these last year when i ordered Black Raspberry Vanilla on a whim with one of my orders and I'm so glad i did! I'm now on my second bottle and i ordered a few more scents to play around with too!

Skin Quenchers are a dry oil spray and they smell absolutely beautiful. I'm a big fan of dry oil and love Elemis Frangipani, but not only is it hideously expensive, its also a pain in the bum to use as you have to warm it up first. Skin Quenchers come in a spray bottle so they are easy peasy to apply. Whats lovely about them is that they aren't greasy and sink into the skin pretty quickly, so they are easy to apply in a rush in the morning. I love to apply them after a long bath. They also leave a slight scent to the skin, which i really love.

I'm terrible for remembering to use body butters, so these little beauties are incredibly handy for me. I suffer with extremely dry legs, to the point that when they are at their worst a lot of body butters will sting and leave my legs sore. Skin Quenchers are the only thing i have found that solves this issue, they also work brilliantly on dry elbows too! My absolute favourite scent is Black Raspberry Vanilla, it smells divine!

Basically, I'm head over heals for these little gems and will continue to repurchase them for as long as Darling Girl makes them. Priced at $6.25 they are a fraction of the price of higher end body oils and in my opinion, work a hell of a lot better. I'd wholeheartedly recommend checking these out, or some of the other amazing products Darling Girl stocks!

You can find these and the rest of the Darling Girl product range here.

I'd also just like to add, although this is a rave review i am in no way affiliated with the company, i just really love their products. :)

Whats your favourite dry oil?

Darling Girl Cosmetics - Satin Stains

A little while back i placed my very first order with Darling Girl Cosmetics and i was not disappointed! The most exciting products of my little haul was their Satin Stains, I'm really loving lip products at the moment and finding more wearable indie lipstick / stain colours makes me a happy bunny! Now I've not got quite used to my new camera so my lip swatches aren't the best quality, but I'm learning! So hopefully you'll get some better quality shots out of me in future but for now they'll have to do, hehe.

Darling Girl describes their Satin Stains as...

"Satin Stain Lip Creme's are a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss.  They are highly pigmented and once the gloss has worn away you are left with a beautiful wash of color."
Babygirl
Babygirl is my favourite out of the two i own. Its a gorgeous peach that has a really lovely sheen that has made a really lovely, fresh, summer colour over the past few weeks. I generally get about three hours of wear time out of it but didn't find it overly staining, more of a thinner consistency liquid lipstick. Although it is of a thinner consistency its opaque in one swipe and is a non sticky formula which gets a huge thumbs up from me!

Lola

I really couldn't get Lola to work for me which is a shame because its such a gorgeous colour! It just doesn't suit my complexion and without a lip liner i could not get it to stay put on the lips. It moved around quite a bit and bled around the edges, but then again i do have an awful habit of playing with my lip bars so this isn't 100% down to the product.

Overall I'll be getting some good wear out of Lola but really do wish they were a little more staining. If you're a fan of liquid lipsticks i think you'd really enjoy these, and at $5 a pop they are really worth a look.  On my next order i need to get my hands on Pink Slip as it looks gorgeous!

Darling Girl Cosmetics Haul

Heya lovelies! After a long, long time of lusting i eventually placed a Darling Girl Cosmetics order! I'd been itching to place an order for a Skin Quencher or two for a while now, so when their Satin Stains were released i just couldn't resist any longer. Its quite a modest haul, mainly because i REALLY didn't want to get hit by customs and after reading elsewhere about others being caught there i thought it was better to be safe than sorry. I'm quite happy to pay custom fee's i just really hate the ridiculous £8 Post Office charges on top of that... *rant over* On to the haul!

So i knew i wanted a Skin Quencher and some Satin Stains, i just had to work out which ones, as there are SO many enticing smells to choose from. I opted for Black Raspberry and Vanilla, it smells absolutely divine! Skin Quenchers are a dry oil spray and as my skin has been on the dry side lately i thought this would be the perfect pick me up. It sinks in to the skin relatively quickly and smells good enough to eat! I'd like to pick up a few more scents including the Lime and Ginger one, yum!
I absolutely love Fyrinnae's Visual Kei Lip Luster, the only problem is that there aren't that many wearable (for me at least) colours. So when i saw the announcement on the Darling Girl Facebook page about these i stalked the website until they were released. I wasn't quick enough to grab the one i wanted most, but oh well, I'll just have to place another order... I'm planning to do a full review on these beauties. That's if my Mum doesn't steal Babygirl before i get around to it, shes had her hawk eye on it all week!

The only negative so far is the size, which in all fairness is clearly stated on the website. They are 3.5ml each which is on the small side, but as i don't tend to finish lip products its not a huge downside, and at $5 a pop is definitely worth the money.
Lastly i ordered their About Face Velvet Gel Primer. I now flat out refuse to pay for Smashbox primer so needed something with a bit of slip for my foundation. It feels great on the skin and so far I'm enjoying using this! At $5.50 it is considerably cheaper than a lot of the primers I've come across, but again it is a smaller product at being around 15ml. I also received a couple of sample baggies and a sample jar with my order, which was a lovely touch.

The website clearly states how long orders will take to ship and my order was just within this time which was around two weeks, then a further week to arrive through the mail (with quite a lot of postman stalking, its okay, he's used to it now). Three weeks in total is quite a long time for someone with no patience, but so worth it in the end! Good things come to those who wait and all that jazz. So far I'm really impressed with Darling Girl Cosmetics and cannot wait to place another order, i just find it difficult to narrow down what i want!

Have you tried any of Darling Girl's products? Feel free to share your suggestions!

Summer Lust List!

Slowly but surely i am determined to get some of these beauties in my life...

1 - Inglot Eyeshadows.
I am obsessed with my Inglot shadows and have been lusting after some new ones for what seems like forever (its really not that long, I'm just a drama queen). In particular i really want some more cool toned neutrals and a few pearl brights including shimmery limes and oranges!

2 - A Better Camera

I have none in particular in mind yet, just an upgrade from my current £50 bargain. Yes mine does the job (most of the time) but it would be nice to learn to take some better snaps with a nice new camera. Just nothing toooooo expensive.

3 - New GHD's
Not sure why, but lately my hair has refused to stay straight and has been returning to its usual wavy (and not in a good way) state within an hour or two. Which to be honest is thoroughly annoying! So these are at the top of my must buy list! Mine are about 6 years old and have taken a bit of a battering, so I'm eyeing a nice glossy new pair.

4 - Revlon Lip Stain Balms

There is a fair bit of American makeup on my written Lust List (yes, i actually keep a written list!) but as these are rumoured to be making an appearance in the UK next month i thought I'd include them! Although, i think i might do a shopping list post of all the American makeup i hope to get my paws on later this year!

5 - Darling Girl Cosmetics (all of it)

Okay, all of it may be a slight exaggeration, but hey! This website has been taunting me and my no buy for some time now and I'm not sure i can resist much longer! I've got my eye on tooooo many things on the website including shadows, glitter glue, lip products and multiple scents of their skin quenchers. Must, resist!

6 - Caudalie Beauty Elixir
If you read blogs you'll know exactly what this is. Its stupidly expensive but somehow this has not put me off lusting over it. /sigh

7 - Dinair Airbrush System
This is a relatively new lust. Do i need it? God no. But i really, really, really, really want one.
*Insert tantrum*

So thats it!
Lust lists are a rare post for me, but i thought I'd share some of the goodies that are catching my eye lately, and knowing my will power will probably be making an appearance on my blog some point in the near future!

Are you lusting over any products lately? Let me know!
